As its print edition became the most-distributed newspaper in the UK, Metro’s online presence has also steadily increased, growing by an 56 per cent year-on-year and welcoming 2,674,191 daily browsers. Good news also comes for the Sun—its website has seen a 15.8 per cent rise in traffic.
Despite the acquisition of the Express and Star national titles in February, as well as glossy magazine OK!, Trinity Mirror has suffered a 9 per cent drop in company share price over the past 12 months. Could that lack of market confidence have been influenced by its web presence? The amount of web visitors to the group’s various titles has decreased by -0.24 per cent year-on-year.
